Each shoe shall have white lacing and two ventilating eyelets on the inside shank. Shoe sizes 3 through 8-1/2 shall have six pairs of lacing eyelets and sizes 9 through 15 including half-sizes shall have seven pairs of lacing eyelets.

Sizes and widths. The gymnasium shoes shall be provided in the following sizes and widths:

Narrow Sizes 3-10 in whole and half sizes

Regular Sizes 3-15 in whole and half sizes

Workmanship. The finished gymnasium shoes shall conform to the quality of product established by this document. The occurrence of defects shall not exceed the contractor’s own quality assurance standards and the quality assurance standards defined by the technical data in the bid package.

Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable.

Quality assurance.

Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and is the same as the product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. Reliance on contractor quality assurance s systems shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract.

Certification of compliance. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, certificates of compliance may be submitted on all components.

Examination.

Visual examination. The gymnasium shoes shall be examined for the following defects; any hole, cut, tear, interior materials, workmanship defects such as distortion, wrinkles pleats or excessive fullness or color not as specified; any spot or stain (outside);
